Manny Adako returns to Holland

July 22, 2011- Pro Partner’s Manny Adako (Northeastern University ’10) has re-signed with Lasaulec Aris Leeuwarden of Holland’s top league.  Adako chose to return to Leeuwarden over a number of options across Europe and will look to build upon a solid 2010-11 campaign in which he averaged 14.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg (FG: 57.6%, 3FG: 41.4%) and was named an All-League selection.  The 6’8″ 254-lb forward was even more impressive during the team’s quarterfinal series against rival Matrixx Magixx, averaging 22.6 ppg.

“I love the my teammates and the fans in Leeuwarden”, said Adako, “I’m comfortable here and know that we have the roster returning to compete for a championship this season.”

After a successful three-year period under Pete Miller, Leeuwarden has handed the reins over to Eric Braal who is regarded as one of the top Dutch coaches in the league.  Pro Partner principal Jim Buckley said of the signing, “We’re confident that Manny’s personal development will continue this season in Leeuwarden under the new coaching staff.  Gert Schurer and the rest of the management team are committed to winning and willing to dedicate the resources necessary to assemble a roster that can compete with any club in Holland.”
