Willhite shows well at Celtics workout

June 5, 2012 – Pro Partner Sports Management’s Reggie Willhite attended a workout with the Boston Celtics this past Saturday in preparation for June’s NBA Draft. Willhite went through drills and evaluations with other potential draft picks including Tyshawn Taylor (Kansas), J’Covan Brown (Texas), and Dee Bost (Mississippi State) in front of GM Danny Ainge.

Willhite played four stellar seasons at Yale University and garnered much attention in his senior year being named the 2012 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year after setting a single-season school record for steals (65). Willhite was also an All-Ivy League Second Team selection and a Capital One Academic All-American First Team selection. As a team captain for the 2011-2012 season, he averaged 12.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 4.0 apg, and 2.3 spg (led the Ivy League).  A number of Eastern Conference clubs have expressed interest in Willhite for future workouts and the upcoming NBA Summer Leagues in Orlando and Las Vegas.

PPSM’s lead NBA agent Frank Catapano said of Willhite, “Reggie has special defensive ability.  He reminds me of a young Haywoode Workman with his quickness laterally.  He plays defense at an NBA-ready level and that’s a skill in high demand in the league right now.”
