Kyle Swanston headed to Italy

July 27, 2013 – Pro Partner Sports is pleased to announce that Kyle Swanston has signed for the upcoming season with Affrico Basket Firenze in Italy’s LegaDue. The 6’7” James Madison product is coming off a breakout season in Hungary’s top league for Kaposvari KK where he averaged 20.5ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.5apg, 1.5spg (FGP: 50.4%, 3PT: 39.2%) and was named to the All-League 1st Team.

Firenze (Italian for Florence) is the capital of the Tuscan region of Italy and is a city steeped in history, fashion, and culture. The club’s Sports Director Massimo Furschelli said of the signing, “This was one of the first players we targeted. When we realized there was a possibility to bring Kyle to Italy, we did everything we could to make it happen. I think Swanston can represent the new model player in Firenze – his temperament, his talent – he just knows how to put the ball in the basket in so many ways. I’m sure he will become a favorite of our fans. With warmest regards Kyle, welcome to Firenze!”

In the backcourt, Kyle will join Michigan State alum and former Hungarian rival Brandon Wood to form one of the most dynamic scoring tandems in the league. “To enter into a basketball market as renowned around the world as Italy is a great step in Kyle’s career. This is an opportunity for him to live and play in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and we’re all excited for what his future holds”, said Pro Partner agent Nick Morteo, “Unstoppable is coming to Florence.”
