Jamar Diggs caps off MVP season with Cypriot Championship
March 19, 2014 – League MVP, Finals MVP, Cypriot Basketball champion. In one day, Jamar Diggs of Apoel added all three titles to his name by leading his team to victory over AEK in the Cypriot League finals. Diggs started the series off strong with a season-high 30 points and 12 rebounds in Apoel’s 95-88 double overtime win, and his 25 points in the 81-50 Game 5 clincher solidified his case as the MVP of the championship round. This came after a semifinal in which Apoel came back from a 2-0 series deficit, the first team in Cypriot history to accomplish that feat. For his overall efforts on the season, including finishing second in the league with 4 assists per game, Diggs was chosen as the Player of the Year by Eurobasket. He also took home the Guard of the Year and Import of the Year awards, and was named to the All-Cyprus First Team.
