Juwann James and the Geneve Lions Celebrate Swiss Cup Win

April 12, 2014 – The Geneve Lions have clinched the Swiss Cup title. They overcame Fribourg in the Final on Saturday by a score of 73-58.  It was a close battle in the opening quarter, and the game was tied 18:18 after ten minutes of play. However, Juwann James and Geneve took over completely in the second frame. The Lions went on a 25 to 5 run and opened a comfortable 20-point halftime lead. Geneve stayed in charge throughout the third quarter, and never looked back. They boosted the gap at 24-point mark heading into the fourth frame. Fribourg made a valiant 23 point run in the fourt, but could not avoid the defeat. Andrej Stimac (204-F/C-79) and Juwann James posted 14 points each for the winners. Clint Chapman responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds for Fribourg. Roberto Kovac also chipped in 12 points in the loss.
